Unable to login on DMM & SnS suddenly

Hi,

We are running Cisco DMS 5.2 VmWare demo installation and today we experience strange behaviour. First the license all of a sudden expired and after the VmWare image was restarted and same license re-applyed, it went back to normal.  Now, we can't login to DMM or SnS from out of nowhere!

I tried restarting the system but with no avail. Also tried with 3 different admin usernames/password and (superuser/admin) combination without success.

Though, the admin user/password is working in the Cisco Digital Media Manager Appliance Administration Interface (AAI) and SnS!

Any input would be appreciated. Thx!

Tiberie,

Since this is a VMware setup, the best bet is to go ahead and

reinstall the VMware appliances.  You have access to the

the AAI so you should be able to back up the configuration and

then do a re-install and then restore configuration.

Tiberie,

I personally have not installed or worked with the VMware 5.2 version.

Remember, the VMware version is only to be used as testing in lab

or Demos. And it is NOT officially supported.

I will presume that the license expiration is working as designed as in

regards to my comments above. As for not being able to login, I am

unsure about this since there can be various reasons.

That said, Since you can access the AAI interface, You should be able

to reset the "Superuser" password and then test to see if the password

is indeed the problem.

* SSH to the AAI using the "pwadmin" user.  You should have set this

password during the initial install or configuration.

* Once you access the AAI using "pwadmin" user, you can reset the "superuser"

  password.

* Try to access the DMM WEB GUI using "superuser" and the new password that you set.

Let me know how it goes..

Cheers!

Hi Tomas,

I've reseted the "superuser" password in AAI via SSH, and tried later on with the generated password "Cisco123" and didn't work

Any other thoughts/ideas... ?

Tiberie

Thank you Tomas!

That was my next step unfortunately. Something got messed up...

I've made backup already.

Will start uploading the multimedia files from the begging now.

Thanks once again and have a nice day,

Tiberie

Hi everybody,

I have got a DMM 5.2 NFR copy.

I thought it would be possible to install it on VMWare but I get this message "Uknown Hardware" which leads me to the fact that this is only suported on specific platform like 7835 or the new Cisco C210.

I find you guys are using spome VMWare version of DMS. Can you help me find a copy of this product.

Thanks,

Elton
