I have install Unity 4.03 on two servers as Failover. I am going to have two exchange 2003 servers in Exchange Cluster. Which server do I need to make as Domain COntroller. I read I cant make Unity server as DC since its in failover...Can I make one of the Exchange server as DC

Ideally, the Exchange nodes would not be domain controllers, and you would have 2 separate boxes acting as domain controllers. If you are to use exchange cluster nodes as domain controllers they both should be DC's and GC's and run DNS.

Again, I dont think you will find anyone who will suggest this configuration and whether or not it is supported by MS or Cisco is another question. But I have had to do this and it works fine.

Microsoft says it's ok to make the clustered Exchange domain controllers - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;281662&Product=win2000

However my personal opinion is that you add an additional computer for DC.

You have already spent a lot of money on Failover along with Clustered Exchange (presumably on certified hardware platform).

An additional server wouldn't be too expensive - you can also go with two Compaq DL320 (for redundancy purpose) that are inexpensive.

BTW, I don't work for Compaq
