Planning new install, want to use Centralized CCM and Unity. Multiple remote sites will have inboung calls from PSTN via FXO ports. Want all calls offered an Auto Attendant with cohices for that branch. Easy enough, but does anyone have any ideas for fault tolerance in case of Unity failure or WAN failure? In the case of WAN, we can have the calls just ring local phone via the SRST config. But if the Unity is down how can we know this and redirect the call to a phone instad of Unity. Any Ideas???

Hi,
You can do this through the use of Partitions and Calling Search Spaces. For example, have a phone line with a Directory number that is the same as the Unity AA number. Place this number in a differnt partition from the Unity AA number.
Create a CSS that contains the partions of both the Unity AA number and the phone. Make sure the partion of the phone is lower in the list (lower priority) then the Unity AA.
If the Unity AA is registered thenn the call will be extended to Unity. If Unity is down then the call will be extended to the phone.

How do you configure the AA numbers so they would be registered with CallManager? I know the ports register, but for these AA call handlers I was just configuring CTI ports forwarded to Unity. In this case the CTI is not registered, but just blindly forwards to Unity. Is this not the case? How do I configure the calls to get to Unity in the solution you describe?
