Unity Connection Single Inbox Deleting V-Mails from Outlook

We are currently running Unity CXN 9.0.1 utilizing Single Inbox. When we initially went about the installation of Unity within our environment we were thinking that the Aging Policies that are implemented from Unity would only alter the V-Mails within Unity and leave the copis that are within Outlook. We ahve since discovered that the Agining Policies seem to be removing the V-Mails from within Outlook as well as within Unity. Is there anyone else experiencing the same occurence? If so has anyone come up with a way that we could have the Agingin policy in pplace to manage the DIsk Space within Unity but allow the V-Mails to remain in Outlook at the same time?...

Any assistance will be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks!

Hi Eric,

I believe this is the expected behavior. Have a look below;

Mailbox-Size Quotas and Message Aging in Connection

By default, when a user deletes a voice message in Connection, the  message is sent to the Connection

deleted items folder and synchronized with the Outlook Deleted Items folder. When the message is

deleted from the Connection deleted items folder (the user can do this manually, or you can configure

message aging to do it automatically), it is also deleted from the Outlook Deleted Items folder.

From;

There is a note pertaining to message retention further down the page in this doc, but since

I have zero Exchange knowledge I can't tell what or how it's done (sorry my friend!)

Cheers!
