What mode does the Parallel Port need to be in for the Key to work... Installing Unity Enterprise on a Compaq DL380, NT4 SP6a, Exchange 5.5 SP4 (provided by AV VoiceMail only), IIS 4, MDAC 2.5, Member server, ect...<br><br>
It's not the port settins causing you problems, this is likely the same thing our hardware folks ran into when qualifying the Compaq boxes in house... they have a problem with their BIOS.
You need to upgrade the BIOS to P17 dated 11/08/2000. That should allow the key driver to see the dongle.
No special settings are required (the Sentinle driver shouldn't care).
Be sure you have the version of P17 that has a date of 11-08-2000. According to the hardware guys there are at least 3 seperate versions of P17 (?) so you need to be sure to get the right one.
That is the BIOS version I am using. (it is actually listed at 12/08/00 version 4.06a according to the link provided, but shows up on boot up as 11/08/00...FYI). I still get nothing though... The only box "enabled" to be checked on install is the Dialogic boards. The Unity check box is grayed out.
ah... wait a minute. You might be barking up the wrong tree. If this is a new install and that's what you're seeing, it's not likely your key. In 2.4.5 if we don't see a key on the port the setup simply bails out. It's not going to let you install just Dialogic or a demo mode or anything along those lines. If we're reading the key at all, we're OK.
You've got another issue at play... Not sure what it is though with the info I have here... bad CD?
These Compaq DL380 are the same box as the Cisco MCS 7835 and we ran into the same problem.
By default the parallel port on these boxes is set to not assign an interrupt to that port. Without this, it will not read the key.
Under Device Manager, click on port and then the properties for the parallel port. Under port settings ensure that the box next to "use any interrupt assigned to the port" is checked.
Will the parallel key show up in the device manager when it has been installed properly? I am trying to be ready for a migration that I'm doing this evening. I am moving Unity from a Compaq DL320 to a Compaq DL380. The DL320 used a USB Key which I am used to but the DL380 only has a parallel port and I want to avoid any problems this evening if possible. Thanks a lot for any advice.
