I'm having a difficult problem. Running CallManager 4.0, with MGCP pri gateways for both local and long distance service. Occasionally, calls to the PSTN result in delay. Person calling says something and their is a pause so the person repeats. Meanwhile, they hear the response.

Do you have QoS configured on your LAN to expedite the voice queue?

Also, I have seen this issue and it was not a result of QoS, it was faulty firmware on the phones. I opened a TAC case and was given special firmware file which seemed to solve the issue. I was running CCM 3.3.

Sorry, I never got back to you. You were exactly right. The phone load had been deferred. Downloaded new load and problem fixed...thx
