Hi,
We are developing a media solution in our lab. I was asked to mount a WAAS Share in the DMM. And i have been given a single NME-WAE-522-K9 Module. We use a small software in AXP module internally so that it will download the files from the external CMS data to the local network. In the mean time i tried to setup a WAAS using the WAE module which i have. I have configured the WAE with WCCP v2.. It is running in accelerator mode. I have enabled the Enterprise and video license.
After doing this, i tried to give the ip of wae to the "Mount WAAS" option in DMM. But i got error when i do this. I assume i can use the same WAE device as CIFS Cache for mounting it as WAAS in DMM. I have attached the screenshot of WAE configuration and the Preposition along wit hthe DMM screen.
Please advice.
Thanks,
JK

JR,
I am not a WAAS expert so I won't be able to help you there.. but
for troubleshooting do not worry about the DMM or the DMS stuff
yet. You need to verify that the WAAS is working first.
Use you laptop first to try to mount the CIFS share you configured
in WAAS. Once you can mount and copy files to and from the
WAAS share from your laptop then move to the next step with the
DMS stuff. Make sure to record the credentials for accessing
the share (if applicable).
So can you access the share successfully from you laptop and copy
files to and from?
Cheers!

JK,
You should be able to use the WAAS device as a CIFS
share and preposition the content locally on the WAE.
In my previous comments, I made suggestions for
troubleshooting the WAAS stuff first before incorporating
the DMS stuff.
As noted before, preposition your content using WAAS and
then try to access the prepositioned content on the
WAE from your laptop. Once that is successful, you can
then add in the DMPs or DMS stuff.
Cheers!

Hi T,
Thank you for the suggestion. let me try it..I was wondering if a WAE device itself can act as a CIFS share. but from your reply, i understood that it cannot .
Thanks,
JK
