Which Botkit SDK for creating Jabber BOTs?

It appears that there is an older Botkit (version 0.74) with support for creating Jabber Bots.  This is now unsupported and there are a number of references to the newer Botkit 4.x including a statement that Cisco has donated Jabber bot support to Botkit core. However, it doesn't look like 4.x supports Jabber Bots.  At least I could find no mention of Jabber support in Botkit 4.x. Am I missing something?  Do I have to use the older, unsupported Botkit in order to create Jabber Bots?

Yes, you can continue to use the 'Legacy' Botkit branch/releases which contain the Jabber bot support.  The Jabber engineering team is currently scoping work to update the to the latest Botkit plugin format - feel free to track via defect # CSCvt96127
