We are trying to install VMO on Windows 2000 Prof.
On existing clients (Win85/98) this has been installed OK, and is being run by all users with no problems.
With Windows 2000, if installer and user have Domain Admin rights, it works OK.
If the user does not have Admin rights, and attempts to play messages, they get the updateregistryfromresource message in one blank titled popup box, then another popup box appears, (title: telephone record and playback) with the following error:
Unable to create client connector.
The file AVTRAPCONNECTIONholdersvr.exe is either
missing from the system directory, an incorrect version,
or corrupt, a full installation might solve the problem.

Any ideas how this can be overcome / has anyone else experienced this ?

Thanks, David

Which version of Unity are you trying to install VMO from here? It could be an older version that was trying to write to a section of the registry that's locked down by default for Win2K systems or the like...

Unity 2.4.6 build 135

A colleague of mine has spoken to Cisco TAC and apparently this is due to the customers PC being loaded using a default security policy which is at a level higher than the standard (compatws) security policy for Windows 2000. He has now changed the security policy on his Windows 2000 machine to compatws, and can now access and use Viewmail in the normal way.
