Can VLAN be part of extended-vlan in OTV?

i.e.

interface G0/0/1

description {Facing switch inside}

service instance 1 ethernet
 encapsulation untagged
 bridge-domain 1

interface overlay0

no ip address
otv join-interface GigabitEthernet0/0/2
no otv filter-fhrp
no otv suppress arp-nd
otv adjacency-server unicast-only
service instance 1 ethernet
 encapsulation dot1q 1
 bridge-domain 1

on the other end, similar config.

Is it possible?

Hello Son,

By default VLAN 1 will be used for OTV site VLAN configuration. It is recommended to use a dedicated VLAN. The allocated Site VLAN must not be extended across the overlay.

As a result the same Site VLAN could be used at both sites. Even if only one OTV Edge Device, the Site VLAN must still be defined. Create a new VLAN to be used as the OTV Site VLAN and define this VLAN as the OTV Site VLAN.

We have defined a different site vlan for each site so this should not be an issue. However, we have consulted to a Cisco TAC and they suggested to use encapsulation on vlan 1 by using a different native vlan on the trunk.

We have a similar challenge of extending native VLAN over OTV.

Is it recommended to extend the native VLAN over OTV.
