Checking port to port

Dear all,

I would like to ask you guys about checking port.

I had a switch and it connected to patch panel. when I used command "show mac add-table" to show mac-add table then it showed many mac-adds connect to 1 port.

For example:

<number vlan> <MAC-ADDRESS> DYNAMIC Gi1/0/24
<number vlan> <MAC-ADDRESS> DYNAMIC Gi1/0/24
<number vlan> <MAC-ADDRESS> DYNAMIC Gi1/0/24
<number vlan> <MAC-ADDRESS> DYNAMIC Gi1/0/24
so, please help me get more knowledge about this issue because I want to know what's the main mac-add was shared with them?

thank you so much~~

Hi there,

This output suggests that you have either a switch connected to gi1/0/24 which itself has multiple hosts connected it. Or it could be a autonomous Access-Point which is bridging the network and these multiple MAC address belong to associated wireless clients.

cheers,

Seb.
