Hello:
I'm not familiar with the Nexus architecture, so i'd like to know whether there is any special consideration I have to make if I need to replace a FEX 2148 with a FEX 2248. For example, Do physical connections remain the same (basically just plug and play)? Do I have to make any change in the configuration or it is basically copy / paste?. Is there any change I have to make in the nexus NX5K the FEX is connected to?
Thanks in advance. David.

If you simply replace the 2148 FEX with a different type FEX 2248 all the old config will be lost.
If you want to use the same FEX number here is the procedure:
1. save the FEX interface config
2. disconnect the old FEX
3. change the FEX model to N2248T like:
fex 100
type n2248t
4. shut the FEX uplink ports and insert the new FEX
5. no shut the FEX uplink ports to the new FEX
6. once the new FEX is online, paste the config back
If you can use a different FEX number, you can do preprovisioning.
