hx240c m5 as standalone mode

We do have 3 nodes of hx240c m5 and we want to use them for VMware LAB. 

Can we run them in standalone mode with no Fabric interconnect since we do not have one?

Are you asking about Hyperflex edge mode (no FIs), or retasking the nodes for non-Hyperflex purposes?
