License for N7K, with N7KM132XP-12, Nexus 2000 and L3

Hi,

I've got two questions regarding N7K:

1. what kind of license is required to run a N7K with a Sup1 and a N7K-M132XP-12 as a parent siwtch for a Nexus 2000 (2248TP)?

2. what type of license is necessary to run that N7K in "L3-mode", with EIGRP. Something else than the "Enterprise License (L3 protocols)"?

Thanks in advance

Matthias

Hello Matthias

Here is a good licensing guide for Nexus platform which describes license types ans features that they give.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/nx-os/licensing/guide/Cisco_NX-OS_Licensing_Guide_chapter1.html

For FEX you will need to install feature-set:

install feature-set fex

feature-set fex

And for Routing protocols you will need only following license:

Enterprise Services Package

(LAN_ENTERPRISE_SERVICES_PKG)

N7K-LAN1K9

  • Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Protocol

  • Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)

  • Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS) Protocol (Layer 3 only)

  • Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) which includes sparse mode, bidirectional mode, and source-specific mode (SSM)

  • Multicast Source Discovery Protocol (MSDP)

  • Policy-Based Routing

  • Generic routing encapsulation (GRE) tunnel

  • Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)

HTH,
