N3k NTP

Dears,

I m trying to set a ntp and I am not able to setup nor a timezone, nor a clock,

here are the below outputs from the timezone and clock commands they are seen in the commands but when I apply them they give me invalid output.

Also how I can enable vtp pruning on the switches ???

SWA(config)# clock ?
  format       Display format of clock
  protocol     Protocol
  summer-time  Configure summer (daylight savings) time
  timezone     Configure time zone

SWA(config)# clock timezone GMT 6
                          ^
% Invalid command at '^' marker.

When I try to set manually without NTP below is the error.

SWA(config)# clock protocol ?
  none  None (clock can be set manually)
  ntp   Ntp
  ptp   Ptp

SWA(config)# clock protocol none
                                        ^
% Invalid command at '^' marker.

I have configured ntp but it seem the clock is not initiated nor any ntp packets are seen going out of the switch as per the below output, how I should troubleshoot such problems

SWA(config-if-range)# sh clock

08:06:10.921 UTC Tue Oct 31 2017

Time source is NTP

SWA(config-if-range)# sh ntp status

Distribution : Disabled

Last operational state: No session

Try to disable NTP on the switch then set the clock. It’s enabled be default

Dears,

So this means the if I disable the NTP then I will be on the local clock ONLY and no NTP, but the strange is why it throws and invalid input error for the timezone and multiple commands like vtp pruning ,

I want to troubleshoot NTP sync issues how I can ??

Sounds like a bug.

I don't think so , but I will try to upgrade the switch and will  update the post

This worked for me:

ntp server 10.10.10.1 prefer use-vrf management
ntp source-interface mgmt0
clock protocol ntp vdc 1
clock timezone EST -5 0
clock summer-time EDT
