Nexus 7000: ip helper-address command support issue (for PXE boot)

Hi Guys,

On our 6500s we often use the "ip helper-address" command for PXE boot scenarios.  However when trying to configure the same command on the Nexus7K platform we've observed that the command isn't available, but rather : ip dhcp relay address, which is specific to only port 67 and 68.  Since we need to be able to relay TFTP and (potentially) other ports as well in order for PXE boot to work properly, wondering if this is still an issue on the Nexus 7K platform, and if so, when will this be addressed?  Or what a workaround might be?

The "ip dhcp relay address" is the equivalent command on NXOS to ip helper address on IOS as you noted already. The PXE information is carried in the DHCP packets both from the requesting client side and the server side. The DHCP server should have pxe information(tftp server IP/image file) configured for this to work. Once the IP is assigned by the DHCP server and the host has installed this IP,  it should initiate a direct tftp session to the PXE server.
