Nexus uplinks Amber color

This may be a dumb question but I would like to know why the uplink ports of a fabric extender are in amber color.

when I issue the command show fex xxx detail and show diagnostistic it gives me this output:

I see that the hardware is ok but all the ports are still amber, it gives l2 conectivity and works ok but this has been asked to me and is a real p in the a to find led color meanings for nexus.

Hi Antonio,

Are you using 3rd party transceivers? Do you have command "'service unsupported-transceivers'" enabled. If yes then this explains the problem - ports are working fine while controller does not understand it as it is not supporting those transceivers. If this posibility rulls out then another questions is if FEX passed the POST test after it was connected with N5k?

this is BTW the LED table:

on the FEX, there are five types of LED as indicate below.

* System status: green (operational), amber (fault), flashing amber (POST boot up), off

(no power)

* Locator LED: bright blue locator

* Port status: green (link established), amber (administratively disabled), flashing amber

(fault)

* Fan status: green (operational), amber (fault)

* Power status: green (operational), amber (fault)
