NON Cisco SFP on Nexus 7K

Dear Specialist

Need help I am in a situation at one of my customer using following

Dear all, I have 2 Nexus 7010 with the 32 Port 10GbE Module (N7K-M132XP-12) I have 10G SFP Non Cisco from Citrix

can I use them on Cisco Nexus .

You will just have to try it , some non Cisco sfps work fine others don't , there is no support for them though if something goes wrong or you cause irregular issues your on your own, its always recommended to use the actual vendor sfps that are in the supported list on the data sheet and they will all be Cisco only

I totally agree with Mark on the comment. Its always recommended to use the same vendor SFP to avoid any sort of interuption and damaging something which is not expected to.

Having said that you can use the non cisco SFP on the Nexus and there is a cmd as well to enable to support the same.

Under interface:-

service unsupported-transceiver:

Nexus(config)# Inter e1/1

Nexus(config-if)# service unsupported-transceiver  <<<

Warning: When Cisco determines that a fault or defect can be traced to the use of third-party transceivers installed by a customer or reseller, then, at Cisco's discretion, Cisco may withhold support under warranty or a Cisco support program. In the course of providing support for a Cisco networking product Cisco may require that the end user install Cisco transceivers if Cisco determines that removing third-party parts will assist Cisco in diagnosing the cause of a support issue.

Dear Inayat

Thanks for help in my situation 1G SFPs are working after running command suggested but 10G

are detected by NS-OS it shows SFPs brands even serial number but connectivity does not establish between Swith and Net-Scaler I guess we are near some thing else you would suggest .
