Hi all,

i planing to migrat to cisco OTV with nexus 7700.

my question is: when i come up with two adjacencies (internal and overlay), with same site vlan and same site identifire,

will the nexus floods his mac address to his neighbor (which is in the same site) via the overlay?

thanks you

jacob

Hi Jacob,

Site VLAN with same site identifier primary purpose is for AED election to prevent L2 loops, only one will become active for X vlan and other will become active for Y vlan. This is based on a computation algorithm whereby AEDs will elect which one can forward even numbered vlans and the other odd numbered vlans over the overlay.

There is no flooding that occurs to my understanding.
