PoAP message on Nexus switch

Hi,

We are seeing this message continually coming from our new Nexus switch. Is this a problem?

how do we subdue this.

Hi,

The message is caused by the Cisco PowerOn Auto Provisioning process. This is a feature that simplifies upgrading software and installing configuration files on new Cisco Nexus switches. This is not a problem assuming the switch has just been installed and has not yet been configured.

To stop the messages you simply press Y and return at the prompt "%POAP-2-POAP_INFO: Abort Power On Auto Provisioning and continue with normal setup ?(yes/no)[n]:"

My console is unresponsive after this message

"POAP DHCP discover phase failed" 

Unable to type anything. Anyother option to proceed further?

I have a same issue. the console is unresponsive 

Same here. How can I exit POAP?? I just cannot press "y"

Fixed for me with taking another usb-to-com.

 

this is not fixing for me still same issue occuring after pressing Y, even its not taking Y , seems console is unresponsive and continue same error message coming as below.

i wa salso facing same issue after unplug console and again connect  console and take fresh putty then its working fine .

 

try its i work after reopen putty n console.

I face the same issue with Cisco Nexus9000 C93180YC-FX3, not taking y (yes) in console, so I leave switch power on after 1 hour, just y (yes) and enter, do nothing extra.
