We have a configuration that is used on our existing C6513 10G ports and would like to ensure the configuration on the new C6807 10G ports will use the same queuing strategy.  The upstream device is a 6509E with a 6708 10G card that already has some ports in use. The queue structure of the two interfaces (C6513 & C6807) differs for the Rx queue.  What is the best practice when moving from 8 queues (C6513) to 7 configurable Rx queues (C6807)?  Should two directly connected interfaces follow the same queing strategy - i.e. if the 6807 only supports 7 receive queues should the 6509 upstream interface be moved to a 7 receive queue model as well? Thank you.

As far as I know amount of Qs are the same for both switches

For 65 series:

For 68 series:

So actually you have 8 Qs all of the time, but one of them can be priority queue.
Your qos config depends of QoS stratedy in your network and SLA/bandwidth guarantees  for the traffic.

I believe that makes sense if I understand correctly.  In a scenario such as this I could map my Voice (for example) to the Priority Queue and the other 7 Queues would map across one-for-one.
