Hi community
I have installed successfully the CISCO Prime Infrastructure 3.1 from the OVA template.
The VMware Tools are installed and up to date but not running.
How can I start the VMware tools (without root access)?
Thank you

Greetings.
You may need to open a TAC case, but other similar cases indicated the following is generally required for this issue:
Execute the vmware-config-tools.pl script (from inside the RHEL guestVM) to update the initramfs/initrd
#sudo vmware-config-tools.pl
Thanks,

Hi guys, sorry to hijack your thread but how did you run this command? I can log into the console of the appliance as admin but get very limited access???
Thanks

Hi Tony, it's normal that the access is limited, but this command should works (at least it worked for me):
sudo vmware-config-tools.pl

Thanks for that, yes that worked fine and now the tools are configured and working.
