Unable to upgrade MDS 9148 to 6.2(23)

Hello all,

I'm trying to upgrade a pair of 9148 MDS switches from 6.2(21) to 6.2(23). I am getting an image verification error when running "sh install all impact":

MDS-B# sh install all impact kickstart bootflash:m9100-s3ek9-kickstart-mz.6.2.23.bin system bootflash:m9100-s3ek9-mz.6.2.23.bin
Installer will perform impact only check. Please wait.

Verifying image bootflash:/m9100-s3ek9-kickstart-mz.6.2.23.bin for boot variable "kickstart".
[# ] 0% -- FAIL.
Pre-upgrade check failed. Return code 0x40930011 (Image verification failed).

I've verified the MD5 on both images on the switch to ensure they copied over intact.

MDS-B# sh file bootflash:m9100-s3ek9-mz.6.2.23.bin md5sum
0fec5ac4d2437d08398181812d054f73
MDS-B# sh file bootflash:m9100-s3ek9-kickstart-mz.6.2.23.bin md5sum
a8cbaf73e3d6f2be93cf9c47f5900716

Both switches have plenty of space in bootflash, and were reloaded before attempting the install. Any thoughts? I don't see anything in the release notes for 6.2(23) or 6.2(21) that would explain why I might be seeing this issue.

Greetings.

Can you confirm if this is a 9148 vs a 9148S switch (the 9148S having the m9100-s5ek9  firmware)?

Thanks,

Kirk...
