vm1 and vm2 on same host can't reach the gateway

Can anyone help with this issue i have. 2 vm's on the same host can't reach the gateway and also can't reach a vm on another host same vlan

Hi,

What are the VM's and what kind of hosts are they running on please? For example, sre blade on 3945 router using SM interfaces and SVI's? In this case please verify if you have the VM on the default Vlan 1. If you do not wish to use the Vlan 1, then you may be need to move this to VM port group under vswicth 0 in this case.

By default the vmnetwork port group is configured to receive traffic from vlan 1. You should be able to edit the properties of the port group, if necessary,  from vsphere client:

You can do this by following steps:

1. Login to vSphere client
2. Select the ESXI host
3. Select the Configuration tab -> then select networking.
4. In the networking screen select the Vm netwok port group in vswitch 1-> edit properties.
5. You should be able to change the vlan id here.

It may be late reply, but if still you have this issue- Can you please provide below info

--> What is the Hepervisor you are using ?

--> Are you using N1K / Hypervisor based switch ?

--> Any other VM's existing on that node and are those reachble to their gateways?
