According to this: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps259/prod_bulletin09186a00800921e4.html

it is possible to do 802.1q trunking between a Cisco 2610/11 router and a switch using the ethernet port (not fastethernet) on the router. We have tried several versions of the IOSs listed on the above document with no luck. Has anyone here had any luck doing this, and if so, what version of IOS are you using? My goal is to do inter-vlan routing on a 2610 or 2611 connected to an HP ProCurve.

No! You can't do trunking on a 10mb port. I don't know of any version of IOS that will support trunking on a 10mb port. Hope this help..

I have always been told the same thing, but according to the link I posted, it can be done with the right IOS.

Thanks for the info. After doing a little more research I found out that you must use an IOS with either the IP Plus or telco feature sets. I was using an IP only IOS.
