Hi all
Does any one know much about these? The 3550 is usefull because of the routing functionality it provides but lets face it, you dont generally need to many routers on a lan ... so is the 3550 more powerfull in terms of performance than the 2950. This just puzzles me because there is only a few hundred quids between the two switches but I want to make sure we arent spending too much on functionality that we dont need.

Here are the data sheets available for Catalyst 2950 and 3550 switches. The data sheet gives clear difference to you which switch is best for your network.
Basically 3550 is more powerful and has many extra features available which are not with 2950.
