I replaced the module to another slot and the module status is ok and ports 17,18,19,20 are ok

you think it is backplan problem

Hi,

i don't think that this is a backplane problem. When the module will works in another slot without any error, it looks like a problem with the supervisor engine. Please post a show version and a show module. Had you seen any messages on the console?

It does seem that way. I suppose the ports access the backplane in groups of four ports, giving six x 1 Gbps backplane connections per card, which is consistent with what I know about other cards, e.g. WS-X4418.

On the other hand, I hear that the backplane is entirely passive - it's just a way of connecting cards into the Supervisor. That means it is more likely the Supervisor card is broken at the backplane interface.

When you put the card back in its original slot, does the fault come back?
