Hi,
My CISCO 6509 Chasis shows very high CPU utilization.
When I see the processes running, L3 aging process is causing the problem.
sh proc cpu
CPU utilization for five seconds: 98.40%
one minute: 99.00%
five minutes: 99.00%
PID Runtime(ms) Invoked uSecs 5Sec 1Min 5Min TTY Process
--- ----------- ---------- -------- ------- ------- ------- --- ---------------
29 606447394 47914416 112000 96.26% 96.00% 96.00% 0 L3Aging
Can any body tell what is this process and how to solve the problem.
Thanks in advance

Is your routing stable? A quick check would be to look at 'sh ip ro sum' a few times to see if routes changing. Is your mls stable? On the supervisor look at total routes in 'sh mls' to see if changing. Are you running NDE? You may want to take this info and open a TAC case.

Hi,
Thanks for your info.
1.Routing table is stable.(We are not running any dynamic routing) It is just an access switch.
2.MLS is enabled in this box.

Hi,
The problem got resolved after changing the MLS filter
from destination 220.0.0.0/24 to source 220.0.0.0/24
