Could any one tell me how do i enable oam cell on a interface atm without configuring it on a pvc or class vc.

On the main interface I am very sure that you can not. The main reason for oam cell is to send keek alive to the ATM switch for any given sub-interface. Since the man interface has its own layer two configuration to alarm if anything goes wrong with layer one and two. Therefore, there is no need to configure oam cell for the main interface.

I would like to know, what is your main reason to enable oam cell without configuring a pvc or class vc.

The reason is that a friend of mine take this question on cisco exam and he didn't know how to answer, so my question is if it is possible or not to configue oam not under the pvc or class vc
