I have a network printer that I know is on and connected to the network. It can be pinged from the same VLAN it is on as well as from our 4507 L3 Switch. It cannot be pinged from any other switch or client directly off this 4507. The arp entry for this ip is correct on the 4507. Traceroute from a client hits the 4507 and then stalls. Any recommecdations on troubleshooting this further?

Check to make sure the printer/switch has route for each other.

I can ping another printer on the same destination switch in the same vlan as the problem printer ip.

I do not understand how this is possible ....
I cannot ping from my computer
my pc(vlanXXX) > switch > 4507 L3 > switch > printer1 (vlanX)
I can ping from my computer
my pc(vlanXXX) > switch > 4507 L3 > switch > printer2 (vlanX)
Users on local switch of printer can ping
users pc(vlanX) > switch > printer1 & 2 (vlanX)
4507 L3 can ping
4507 L3 > switch > printer1 & 2 (vlanX)

Hi,
Did you define a gateway address on printer 1 because you need to route between vlanxxx and vlanx.
Layer 3....

Hey guys. I have corrected this issue. Although I am still not sure why the 4507 could ping it and not myself.
I added my computer to the same vlanX as the printer. I could then communicate with it. From here I upgraded the Marknet2001e adapter. I can now ping the printer from any VLAN.
Version 3.20.30

of the NVRAM processes. The symptoms of this issue could be loss of
network settings, loss of network connectivity, or 976 Network errors..
