Running CAT OS, how do I check the status of a particular port?
Also: Can I dump the MAC addresses for all ports?

You can do a "sh port x/y" to check for status of a particular port. You can do a "sh cam dynamic" to dump the CAM table output

I understand that I need to use sh cam dynamic to see connected devices.

Show cam dyn shows you all the mac addresses of all devices that are on the switch as long as they have not timed out of the table , by default I beleive the mac timer is only 5 minutes , this is adjustable to longer periods of time if needed .

Further-more, if you have a mac address and are trying to get the port, enter it as:
sh cam xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx
The results will be which port that mac is coming from. If you have a larger lan, you can then jump to the next switch(from your first sh cam), and then do the same command and this way you can track down a mac pretty easily..
Hope this helps
