Hi All,
I'm trying to upgrade the ios of a 2500 I just bought for my home lab. I'm getting a checksum error after he downloaded the ios from the tftp server.
Things I tried:
- check if their is something wrong with the ios on the tftp server. Checksum is fine and their is no problems loading that ios on other routers.
- replacing the main cricuit board with a spare one. I taught I maybe had a problem with the ethernet interface. And I had a spare mainboard laying around. Still didn't helped me out.
Things I wanted to try the minute i have some more spare parts:
- change the flash
Anyone have some ideas what it can be or what i can do without spending money on flash?
Thanks in advance.

No, i didn't upgraded my rom. But I replaced the complete mainboard with a spare one. I don't have rom chips laying around. So I can't upgrade the boot rom.
Why do you think the problem maybe lies with the ROM? Personnaly I doubt this.
But i'll put my flash ram and ram into a working 2500 and see if it has the same symptoms.

Try formating the flash. You may have a bad bit.
