Hi

I have a simple question, I have some routers at home for lab practice. When I reload one of them I always get this message:

System Bootstrap, Version 11.3(2)XA4, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Copyright (c) 1999 by cisco Systems, Inc.

TAC:Home:SW:IOS:Specials for info

C2600 platform with 65536 Kbytes of main memory

program load complete, entry point: 0x80008000, size: 0xf7b4c0

Self decompressing the image : #################################################

################################################################################

################################################################################

#################################################### [OK]

Can someone explain this message, I did load a new IOS version a while back. Any help much appreciated.

It displays the bootrom version of the router. The version displayed is not associated with the IOS image located in flash.

Compare it to the BIOS of an ordinary i386 computer.
