If anyone has a copy of Building Cisco Scalable Networks by Ciscopress (September 2001)they may be able to help...

Page 156 Step 7 displays the output from debug ip ospf adj.

After the interface has been brought up, why does the DR/BDR election happen twice? I can understand the first election (03:23:43), as the interface has just come up but why the second instance (03:23:53)?

It is surprising that a "re-election" would occurr with each hello, but that seems to be the correlation (10 sec hello interval on broadcast networks).
