Configuring SRM for Cat6500

I have a 6509 (running CatOS) with trunk connections to distribution switches using both SUP2/MSFC2 blades ports. We are plannig to change the Sw to SRM configuration and the document mention that you suppose do not have teh second blade (MSFC2 - non designated) connected to any external network. What they mean by that? Am I suppose do not have the ports for blade 2 free?

What the documentation means is that the MSFC2 which is non-designated cannot connect to any external networks since all the interfaces are in down/down state. You can certainly use the uplink ports on the Standby Sup.
