directing DHCP requests on a 3548 .....

I need to direct all dhcp request originating from clients attached to a particular switch 3548 to a particular DHCP Server ........ on the int vlan 1 i see the command ip helper a.b.c.d has anybody used this successfully on a switch ???

Hi,

IMHO, this won't work.

ip helper command is used on routed ports to forward DHCP broadcasts to another subnet, e.g.

Cat3548 is a L2 device not providing such a functionality.

I think that even while you are able to configure ip helper address on int VLAN1 it will not do anything.
