does router strip dscp/af markings

Hi

If I don't have any service policies configure to honour or set dscp/af markings on a cisco routers interface with standard config, will the router strip off any existnig qos marking as it routes the packet out.

No, the router doesn't modify the DSCP-values in your case. It could be different when you have a switch where QoS is enabled, but not completely configured. There you have the chance that all DSCP-values are remarked to 0 when the incoming port is untrusted.
