Hi, I want to configure a 1700 router to connect to Internet by DSL and ISDN backup.
I need that the dialer1 and the atm0.1 have the same IP because we have a web server in our LAN.
I have configured the router but it doesn't work, when I shutdown the atm interface the dialer interface is :
sh interfaces dialer 1
Dialer1 is standby mode/disabled, line protocol is down
Hardware is Unknown
Interface is unnumbered. Using address of Loopback0 (212.81.207.2)
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 56 Kbit, DLY 20000 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation PPP, loopback not set
DTR is pulsed for 1 seconds on reset
Last input never, output never, output hang never
Last clearing of "show interface" counters 00:53:54
Input queue: 0/75/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0
Queueing strategy: fifo
Output queue: 0/40 (size/max)
5 minute input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec
5 minute output rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec
0 packets input, 0 bytes
0 packets output, 0 bytes
This is the show run of the router
Can anybody help me please?

Hello,
just to make sure: do you shutdown the subinterface or the physical interface ? I am just asking because shutting down the subinterface will not trigger the dialer backup interface, this is just a Cisco-specific feature. Try and shutdown the physical interface (ATM0).
If that doesn't help, can you post the output of :
debug dialer events
after trying the failover ?
Regards,
GP
