Dual Startup Config

I want to setup two startup configs on AS5350, One will run as a VoIP gateway, the other as a FAX Gateway.

The IOS Version is 12.3.

This is a lab enviroment, as I assume will be loaded as primary and secondary configs as needed for testing.

I don't see this working, since the file names are running-config and startup-config, and you can't have more then one.

An option would be to setup a tftp server, and use something like

copy tftp: running

I have never played with that, but those commands are in the IOS routers.

Might be something to try.

Hi,

I'm not sure if AS5350 allows you to save a file to the flash.

If yes, I'd load the VoIP gateway config to the running config and issue

copy running-config flash:voip.txt

command.

Then load FAX Gateway config to the running config and issue

copy running-config flash:fax.txt

command.

Then you can copy flash:viop.txt startup-config (or

copy flash:fax.txt startup-config) and reload the router any time you need to swap to the other config.

The only complication is you have to remember saving any changes to the flash files.

The commands you sent work fine, can load 2 configs on AS5400 / 5350.
