Hi,
I would like to optimize bgp routing in C7206VXR (NPE-300 with 256 MB ).
Problems are due to BGP Scanner process that is about the 30 % of CPU charging (about 35%).
With the memory the problem is due to BGP router process that occupy the 85% of memory used (165MB of 256 MB).
I describe the scenario:
There are two routers into an internal AS but one of these ( 7200) is linked to other ISPs so it receive from each peer 186k prefixes.
Is there a way to optimize cpu and memory charging before I do an HW upgrade?
Thank you vry much.
Regards.

Hello Paolo,
Maybe the following like will be a good start point:
Achieve Optimal Routing and Reduce BGP Memory Consumption

Hope this help,
if it does , please rate this post.

maybe you can get by with provider only with default
or only default routes?
Why do you need such intensive full routes? Are you really in need of that fine tuned load balancing ?

Hi,
in this router there are two peer form ISPs for redundancy. When you say of load balancing do you mean you have to use the route map for AS_SET or local preference?
