Hi All,
I'm trying to format a PCMCIA flash card in my Cat6500 SupII, but I get the following message:
Unknown device mfg id (ffffffff.ffffffff.ffffffff)error = -1
I guess it doesn't like this brand of Flash card (SimpleTech, 128Mb). What brands of Flash card does Cisco support?
Thanks, Randy

Not sure if SimpleTech is supported. Try using "format disk0:" and see if it works

Randy,
If you are not running CatOS 7.5 (ish) or greater then you will have problems with some non-Cisco flash cards (speaking from collegues painful experience!). This is due to lack of support for ATA style PCMCIA flash.
Regards,
Mark.

Thanks,
Format Disk0: didn't work, I got a "Format device disk0 failed (unknown device)" message. I am running Cat OS 6.3(3), so I'll look into an upgrade.
