Hi,

You need to check the size of new IOS which needs to be uplaoded in flash of 2911 router.Make sure that enough space is available in flash so that new IOS can be uploaded.

same can be checked through dir flash0: of flash:

you need to use the command copy tftp flash: to upload IOS is router.

If enough space is availabel in flash: then, u can keep both IOS and use command boot system flash:new IOS filename so that  router boots next time using new IOS.

you can refer the link

regds,

Loading the IOS into a router using TFTP maybe a Cisco "method" but this is "old school".

The router has a CF slot at the back, eject the CF and use a media card reader to copy the IOS from the client to the CF card.

Another method is to copy the IOS from the USB port to the CF card.

... but note that "old school" method works on almost any product of this class, regardless the model number and manufactured date.

Those "brave new world" ;-) methods are not as generic ...

But I should not continue discussion in off-topic thread ;-)
