HSRP and SPANNING TREE

My edge switch has redundant links to two dist 6509s running HSRP.

the root bridge is also the standby switch while the active switch is blocking it's port to the edge switch.

It works fine but I want to know:

1. What impact (if any) this has on the network.

2. Is this normal

3. Where can I find documentation

OK - figured it out ---

active/root on same switch.

distribute active/root function evenly across dist switches.

use uplinkfast
