Hi,
I have a cisco AS5300 Access Server. It was working fine for ages. Suddenly, after a restart, it is showing initial configuration dialog. I tried to configure it again and saved the configuration. I have copied the running config to start up config, done a 'write mem' and also tried pressing 'Yes' when it asked to save the configuration after issuing the reload command.
I have restarted the server many times and done the above things each in each restart.
But everytime I restart, all the configuration is lost and the router shows the initial configuration dialog.
What may the problem and what is the solution ? Can anyone help ?
Thanks,
Kiran

The usual reason for this is the configuration register. Do a show version and look for the last line. If the config register has a '4' in the penultimate character, then this means "ignore the configuration in NVRAM." In this case, go into the config mode, and type config-reg 0x2102 and save it.
