Internal Ring on Catalyst 3750

In the QoS Chapter of the documentation set for the Catalyst 3750 switch, the documentation refers to the 'internal ring' although it doesn't state what the 'internal ring' does. Can someone provide information on the function and purpose of the internal ring

Thanks in advance

Andrew

I think the word 'ring', in this context, probably refers to the 'Stackwise' backplane, which of course is that logical ring connecting together all the switchports in a 3750 stack.

For example, one of the functions of QoS is to provide a priority ingress queue which has guaranteed bandwidth on the stack ring.

Does this help?
