Hi i need a router that could be abble to support internet full routing tabble,
The 3945E with the memory upgraded for 4 gigs could support the full routing table ?
Could you please let me know what is the models that cisco recommends to support such memory and process load, i´m thinking in the ASR series or a 73xx series.
Thanks you.

My last check a couple of years back was a single copy of full Internet routing table (about 300k prefixes) consumed nearly 250MB RAM
4GB would be plenty.

Hi There,
The minimum requirement for a Full BGP Internet Routing Table is 512MB. 4GB is plenty. I plan on doing the same on an ASR1002X.
Best,
Elmer

If you're pulling full Internet routing tables, don't forget you get a route information from each BGP peer. Using the (old) soft copy feature will also consume additional RAM.
On the other hand, if your IOS supports OER/PfR, you have the option of just using a default route to each peer and allowing OER/PfR to load balance and/or pick the better performing path (per prefix). RAM requirements, then often become minimal but with better performance.
