Does anyone no why ISL trunking is not allowed on 6148-ge-tx or 6548-ge-tx modules? Is there any Cisco documentation stating why? It is available on 6748-ge-tx modules? Hmmmm!

I think its a hardware limitation.

The WS-X6548-GE-TX and WS-X6548V-GE-TX do not support the following:
More than 1 Gbps of traffic per EtherChannel
WS-F6K-DFC
ISL trunking
Jumbo frames
802.1Q tunneling
Traffic storm control

Thanks, you guys (Ankur & TIS). Release notes truly are our friends)! I have been frustrated by the fact that features such as STORM CONTROL aren't enabled on these modules, or the Etherchannel limitations. Something I realized too late. My questions is more if it's not in the software, why the limitations is in the hardware? Is it heat/cooling, or power related? And why it wasn't re-introduced in the GE-TX world until the 6748? Do you have any thoughts?
Thanks again!
