link speed mismatch on catalyst enterprise 2924

network description

i have modular enterprise catalysts 2924 switches connected to a central catalyst 5505 switch. the modular catalyts 2924 switches are also connected in a ring. my topology is a star - ring. all my connections are dedicated 100mbps, full duplex links.

problem

i occasionally encounter link speed mismatch on some links between the modular catalyst 2924 switches on the ring. i am monitoring the network using cisco works 2000.

the best way to avoid this type problem make sure both ends of the links are hardcoded for both speed and duplex on all your switches .
