%MCAST-2-MAXGDALIMIT problem

Hi,

I'm seeing a lot of these %MCAST-2-MAXGDALIMIT messages popping out in our Catalyst 5500 syslog lately. I'm not quite sure how to troubleshoot this. The problem started when I configured a backup Cisco 7507 ATM router to act as HSRP backup router for the Catalyst 5500 switch (with RSM on it). There are two Cat5500 involved (linked to each other via 1000BaseSX links), while the 7507 router is connected to one of the Cat5500 (via ATM OC3 link with LANE running). Anyone encounter a similar problem like this before, and if so how did you solve it?

Hi woon,

This may not be the problem with HSRP configuration at all. This could be due to a faulty Sup on one of the switches.
