Multiple Addresses on 1 interface

help, i need to know if and how i would go about putting about 12 different subnets addresses on 1 FastEthernet interface on my 3620. and if it is not possible, what i would need to do to configure a vlan to do it.

You can configure secondary IP addresses on the fastethernet. However, if you are connecting another switch to this interface, the best way to go would be to configure VLANs and configure the link between the switch and a router as a trunk. You can find examples on CCO at

You can use all 12 ip address as the secondary ip addresses and there is no limitations but it is not recommended at all because the amount of the broadcast traffic like one broadcast domainc. IF possible please use the vlans to separate the broadcast domain. and use the URL as provided above.

What cisco catalyst switch would you suggest to use for 12 subnets to trunk between the 3620?

You can use any catalyst switch, 2900Xl, 3500Xl, 3550 or 2948G, or any other cisco switches. Almost all the cisco switches do trunking.
